Season 1, Episode 15: Melinda’s First Ghost

Melinda remembers how her relationship with her Mom got strained when she re-encounters the first ghost she ever saw. When younger, Melinda’s mother could not deal with her daughter’s prodigious and supernatural gift. This lead to a growing rift between the two. Now Melinda must reunite with her estranged Mother to help save the spirit of this young girl.

Melinda is forced to remember how her relationship with her mother became strained after Melinda’s first ghost emerges. Melinda’s mother could not understand how to deal with Melinda’s gift. Melinda must reunite with her mother to help the ghost.

When the spirit of a shy young girl calls to Melinda by name, she recognizes the ghost as her first encounter with the other side: a fourth-grade classmate she was unable to help at the time. Melinda becomes obsessed with finding the girl and helping her cross over. Meanwhile, Jim and Andrea plan a surprise party for Melinda’s birthday, but she doesn’t want to celebrate.
